Mielke Confections is the continuation of the family legacy of Catherine's Chocolates. They produce delicious hand-dipped chocolate, made and sold locally in the Berkshires.

Following the implementation of their partnership with Catherine's Chocolates, the guys wanted to move away from the 'farm shop' feel that the existing business had and present themselves as a more professional organisation.
​
The brief they supplied us with was fairly open. However, they did want to draw attention to the fact that this was a family-owned business established in 1983. they were also definite that didn't want any reference to the fact that they were both army veterans or any chocolate imagery as they quite correctly felt that this could prove limiting in the future.

Our conversations with them helped us to understand they were looking for a more sophisticated feel to their brand and they were looking to break into more upscale markets as they expanded the business.
​
It was for this reason that we eventually opted for an elegant and refined color palette coupled with a serif main font to add to the feeling of quality.
